CMI provides a number of training workshops for our clients. Each workshop is tailored to meet the specific expectations of your organization. Client needs dictate content, duration, instructor and potential follow-up, and are always considered in advance of any workshop preparation.
Life is change. Change, whether it is viewed positively or negatively, produces stress. A change event can be unexpected, or one that has been expected, but is unwelcome. Regardless, everyone has a different perception of change and different reactions to the stress caused by change. These reactions vary from time to time, depending on the event that caused the stress, and on other stressors that are evident at the same time.
Not only does everyone react differently to change, but each person's response is further compounded by the varying reactions of others to the same new event. Participants in CMI's Coping with Change workshops first learn to identify their own reaction to change and then learn how to identify and deal with other people's reactions. Reactions are predictors of ongoing behavior and are examined so that participants begin to understand the expanding ripples of their immediate and long term responses.
Successful organizations know that diversity and cross cultural training are necessary ingredients for successful and productive teams that allow organizations to gain a competitive edge in an increasingly global community. For over twenty-five years, CMI has provided insightful training, materials and train-the-trainer workshops for businesses in a variety of industries that recognize the need for diversity and cross cultural education.
Diversity and cross cultural training should not be a static process that is written once and presented over and over again throughout the years. CMI's unique approach to this training includes a workstyle preference component so that all participants learn their own communication style, the styles of others, and how to determine and utilize preferred methods of communication in all situations. This approach allows participants to learn the basics so that they can apply those principles in a ever-changing situations.

Stress is part of our daily lives. All organizations suffer increased medical costs and lost productivity as a result of employee's ongoing and unmitigated stress levels. Stress is contagious and group stress interferes with organizational success. By teaching employees to better process their negative reactions to workplace and personal stressors, an organization can be productive and successful even in the most challenging of times.
CMI has assisted organizations of all types with concepts, techniques and programs designed to assess employee stress levels and remediate performance problems caused by employees' inability to cope with stress. When stress levels are defined, employees learn to recognize the signs of negative reactions to stress in themselves and others, which is the first step in the process of dealing equitably with challenging situations. The results of stress management training are increased productivity, a more engaged workforce and a workplace environment that fosters individual initiative.
When employees are taught how to cope with stress in positive ways, their improved performance reflects directly on your bottom line.

Conflict resolution workshops are often the most highly valued and regularly attended offerings that CMI provides. This is because conflict resolution is generally not provided at all, or is provided very late in the game, as a result of obvious difficulties in the workplace. The saying, "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure," applies to all of CMI's conflict resolution programs.
In order to improve successful results, CMI takes a common sense approach to providing information that will provide quick, positive results. Success breeds confidence in the new techniques and participants will learn to understand how conflicting goals can be handled effectively, without allowing them to turn into personal dislikes.
Participants find that using techniques to reduce conflict make the workplace more comfortable as teamwork increases and individuals re-engage in shared projects. The result is that groups learn to move beyond personal grievances toward mutual success.
Poor job performance affects the individual, the supervisor and the organization. At the crux of the problem is often confusion concerning responsibility. Who is responsible for a person's performance? Quite often, the low performing individual finds a number of people and things to blame, but never begins to internalize the fact that each of us are responsible for our own actions and for our reactions to obstacles.
CMI's Improving Job Performance workshop allows participants to identify whether or not they, themselves, control their daily lives. Those who are convinced that regardless of what they do, their job and life success is guided by forces outside of their own control learn how to re-evaluate "cause and effect" and to approach analysis in a more positive manner. Exercises with measurable outcomes are completed, with the expectation that they will be utilized for all continuing tasks. Those whose assessment results indicate that they understand that results are based on their actions are given a separate set of exercises to support their problem solving approaches. These participants will continue to record and strengthen successful work behaviors.
